Toddler Slides – Fun for Young Children
The 100dof-developed application Toddler Slides can get a few giggles out of your little child. What does this application do, you ask? The answer is quite simple: it displays various images as a slideshow on the monitor. There’s an image of a pig, an image of a bird, an image of a train, and so on. Some of the images are accompanied by sound.
For example when viewing the image of a pig, you can hear a pig grunting. When you view the image of a train, you can hear the choo choo of a train. When you view the image of a bird, you can hear a bird chirping.
The application comes with an interesting selection of images and sounds. You don’t have to stick with those if you don’t want to. You can get Toddler Slides to display your own images accompanied by your own sounds. You can even type in captions if you want to.
Please note that when it starts a presentation, Toddler Slides locks the keyboard and disables Alt + Tab, Start, Alt + F4 and other combos. While the presentation is running, you can press any key and the slide will change. Press Alt + F4 to close the application and nothing will happen. Press Escape and you won’t exit the application either.
This “lock the keyboard” bit can be useful if you’re going to let a small child watch the presentation. You don’t want the child pressing a key and exiting the presentation. It can at the same time be frustrating to press Alt + F4 and see that nothing happens. I had to close down Toddle Slides by pressing Alt + Ctrl + Del to access the Task Manager. If you don’t want to do that, you can set it so Toddler Slides doesn’t lock the keyboard when it runs.
